In all the circumstances and having regard
to the fact that the murderous attack was a sudden
though certainly a severe and persistent one, and
that the condemed man's misunderstanding of the
land situation must have formed one of the most
potent motives for a member of an agricultural
community I think that this is a case in which Your
Excelleney might well exercise the power of clemency.
